Chances are, even if you're familiar with Finley's experimental neon-orange baseballs, you may have only seen red-stitched examples, not the scarcer white-stitched type offered here. It's believed to be a prototype, if not a game-used ball from one of the A's spring-training games in which Finley's orange orbs were given a trial run. The later red-stitched balls have the addition of a "COF" model number on the south panel (for Charles O. Finley) and the word "Official" on the sweet spot—both suggesting retail origins. This prototype variation is striking NM except for medium toning that detracts little from the radiantly orange, boldly stamped appearance.
