The mega-popular Hartland baseball statue series is populated with giants of the game. Though many of the featured stars surpassed Dick Groat in talent and records, none are more important when it comes to collectability. Score a handsome example with this 1958-1962 Hartland Dick Groat statue. With a reported production quantity of just 5,000 pieces, the Groat figure is widely regarded as the key piece to assembling a complete Hartland baseball set. Accompanied by a bat and an original factory box, this satisfying Groat statue sports bold paint, excellent gloss and a generally clean surface. The figure stands freely, the uniform is off-white and the underside of the shoes are free of adhesive residue. All of these condition plusses add up to a (NM) rating for this coveted piece, which shows just slight touches of wear on the jersey lettering/numbering. While the bat is slightly bent near the handle, this condition is fairly unobtrusive and when viewed at eye level, the bend is positioned behind the head and is not noticeable. The long side flap on the top end of the box is detached but present, and one of the short side flaps on the top is absent. A generally nice shape is evident and the gloss level is decent, however the box does bear a few moderate creases and a V-shaped notch on the detached top end long flap.
