”First in war, first in peace and last in the American League” was long the battle cry for the oft-hapless Washington Senators. This 1950s Gibbs-Connor porcelain razor blade depository just might prompt one to add personal grooming to that list of “firsts.” Standing 4-1/2”-tall, a Senators mascot bust depicts a player clad in jersey and cap, the back of which includes a vertical slot for used razor blades. On the back of the jersey, the raised-letter instructions and warning for “little senators” has worn away almost completely. The piece presents nicely with vibrant colors throughout. There is a tiny chip at the rear of the base.
