Displaying the blue and red hues worn by the franchise’s players long before the familiar black-and-gold became the norm, this 1930s-1940s Pittsburgh Pirates pennant is a scarce and early example. The full-size blue felt banner features a red spine and red appliqué identifiers that include a patch-wearing mascot and “Pittsburgh” in olde English font. The vintage pennant shows (VG-EX) quality with minimal fading, cracking about the appliqué elements and pinholes from previous display.
