Promoting male grooming and child safety, Cleveland’s Gibbs-Conner company produced this New York (baseball) Giants razor depository during the 1950s. Standing 4-3/4”-tall, the porcelain bust portrays a Giants player whose facial hair is altogether contradictory to the keepsake’s purpose. Nevertheless, a vertical slot resides at the back of the player’s head, and atop the back of his jersey a raised-letter proclamation reads: “Keep used razors in this well so little giants wont hurt themselves.” The piece displays still-vibrant colors, though there is a hairline crack on the back.
